Standing on African roofs
Ron Eglash (and here and here) has an interesting TED talk on the existence of fractal patterns in African designs. Georg Cantor (Cantor set), Helge von Koch (Koch snowflake), Leonhard Euler (Eulerian path) and a few other mathematicians get a mention. However, no mathematics knowledge is required to understand the talk. It's mostly about patterns.
